The voting tickets were limited to the first press releases (about 350,000 total), which were presumably all snapped up within the first day. So by the time the midpoint results were released, there were no more "extra" votes to be had by buying more cds (presumably to prevent a rumor like last election, when a very rich fan supposedly dumped 500 votes and "bought" Sato Amina her #8 position).

The battle between Acchan and Yuko was more like a battle between their fans, with both sides throwing in tons of votes to beat the other. They were only 597 votes apart, but they both lead #3 Mariko by an incredible 7000+ votes.

The SukaHira 7 has existed well before even the first election and is a term well known by the fans and AKB members. As you already noticed, it refers to the top 7 senbatsu members, the only ones who ever get to perform Skirt, Hirari in concerts. Its history traces all the way back to the release of the "Skirt, Hirari" single (whose senbatsu members were the original SukaHira 7).Sharnoreply@blogger.com
